
As a Mainer (not a native, but still) I was tickled to read on Mainetoday.com that my state's lobster industry is seeking to become certified as "sustainable." This will ensure that lobstering in Maine will have a minimal impact on the environment, and that lobsters are not over-fished. The certification process, which has just begun, could take a year or more to finish. It's nice to see the lobster industry jumping on the "green" bandwagon and wanting to provide environmentally conscious consumers with a more environmentally sound product. Kudos!
